The Construction Contractors Board (CCB) was created in 1971 with the primary purpose of protecting consumers who do business with construction contractors.  The CCB ensures that, to the extent possible, contractors comply with state laws and regulations regarding contracting, construction liens, construction, licensing, employment, workers’ compensation insurance, safety, paying taxes, obtaining permits, and following building codes.

The Administrative Services Section is an agency-wide resource that provides several services. The Section provides agency support for financial operations, human resources, and procurement. This position is eligible for remote work on a part-time basis once the incumbent has gained the proficiency required to perform work independently.  However, scheduled office hours are also required. 

This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME)

Here’s what you will do:

As the Fiscal Analyst 2, you will partner with the Administrator and Agency Leadership Team by assist in development and administration of the agency budget by coordinating fiscal operations of the agency. Also, you will be providing consultation and advice on agency fiscal assets and needs. You will perform ongoing budget planning, monitoring, and reporting. You will utilize fiscal research, analysis and reports to help inform and guide agency leadership decisions in alignment with agency fiscal and strategic priorities. In consultation with agency leadership, you will coordinate, monitor, and evaluate agency financial operations, including cashiering, accounting, procurement, receivables, and payables to ensure compliance with statewide and agency policies.

This position will coordinate agency accounting functions with the Department of Administrative Services to ensure accuracy of accounting functions. Prepare and submit required agency reports to Administrative Services. Plan and coordinate special projects as needed.

Here’s what you need to qualify:

Fiscal Analyst 2 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience that included the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system.

OR

  • Five years of professional-level experience in accounting, fiscal auditing, management or program analysis. Experience must have included modeling, forecasting and analyzing fiscal information.

OR

  • Successful completion of the Department of Administrative Services Budget and Management Public Administrative Trainee Program.
  • Note: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related degree (such as Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics or other analytical or technical degree) may substitute for three years of the required experience. A graduate-level degree in any of the above areas may substitute for four of the five years.

Requested Skills:

  • Intermediate+ user with Microsoft Office Suite (M365 and TEAMS)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and special requests while maintaining attention to detail and under short deadlines
  • Experience interpreting and analysis of state and federal statutes and regulations
  • Experience with querying financial data, databases, statistics, data analysis, reporting tools, and connecting data to objectives and goals
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
