Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services (DFS) is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to fill a full-time position as a Grants Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the grant lifecycle, including funding sources, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and compliance regulations. This position will be responsible for researching all grant opportunities, grant writing, and reviewing grant proposals. We are looking for a self-motivated and engaged candidate who possesses the following: A self-starter who can identify funding opportunities and develop innovative solutions to meet community needs. Skill in writing successful grant proposals and securing funding from government agencies or foundations. Ability to manage multiple grants simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
This position will analyze grant budgets and expenditure activities for assigned grants; and develop statements, schedules, and notes on these grants as well as requested audit items. Accountable for grant compliance, to include verifying the funds are being used as intended. Responsible for researching, writing and/or reviewing proposals, drafting Memorandums of Agreement or Understanding, coordinating with the Department of Procurement, monitoring spending, and submitting existing Grant deliverables.
Under the general direction of the Quality, Data, and Compliance (QDC) Supervisor, this critical position will:

Proactively and independently identify, advise, and assist departments in applying for grant funding opportunities. Monitor and assist the Department with grant administration. Coordinate training on grant administration, including best practices in grant identification, writing, management, and reporting. Develop and update grant related policies and procedures. Administer the County's nonprofit grant program. Analyze grant accounts and create reports on grant activity. Familiarity with budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting related to grants. Complete special projects as assigned, independently or as a member of a team. A successful candidate will be detail oriented, highly collaborative with strong communication skills, and persistent in the face of obstacles or challenges. The candidate will also have the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships internally, as well as with partners external to DFS.

Salary Commensurate with Experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field; four (4) years of related work experience with individual or team project work and with functional, operational, or administrative experience of a difficult nature; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:  Desire a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate.
