Your duties at a glance

As an Office Specialist 2, you will:

  • Identify information needs and coordinate with involved parties to ensure information is obtained.  Review request forms and other documents for compliance with established standards and ensures all necessary documentation is provided and complete, if not, complete return for correction.
  • Provide administration and clerical support for DHS Office of Contracts and Procurement staff and managers.

What you need to qualify

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;

OR

An associate degree in any field; 

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential attributes

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience answering routine inquiries for information about programs or services provided by your employer.
  • Experience providing customer service that included general and procedural informational via telephone and in person.
  • Experience communicating professionally and effectively with people over the telephone, in writing, and in person.
  • Experience using a computer to input and retrieve information and/or data and generate information and/or data reports.

Working conditions

  • General office environment. 
  • Must have valid driver’s license or other acceptable method of transportation
  • Must be able to lift and transport boxes as well as equipment weighing up to 40 pound per item
  • Overtime will periodically be required due to programmatic, budgetary, or other critical deadlines
