What is this career opportunity?
The state’s Broadband team was created in the fall of 2021 with the mission to expand and improve broadband access and reliability for every Montanan. This new team, within our Architecture & Engineering Division (A&E), is looking for an individual with a background in coordinating grant contracts. Your work would be focused on the state’s deployment of an initial $275 million received from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Future additional grants from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) will also provide an additional projected amount of $300M to $500M to Montana for deploying BEAD/DE broadband grants. This is not a typical grant position, because, instead of being on the receiving end of the grant funds, you would oversee the grant awards, working with multiple consulting firms to verify installations are being implemented, and monitor grant contract compliance. You would report to the Broadband Program Manager, work closely with our grants coordinator and grants accountant, consultants, and other stakeholders.
If this interests you, please apply
This position is federally funded by programs intended to assist states in the deployment of broadband services to underserved/unserved populations and is expected to be funded for four to five years.
