THE ROLE
 Estate Community Engagement Lead

As Estate Community Engagement Lead reporting to the Manager, Community Partnerships Team, Western Melbourne Area, you will have responsibility for oversight of the further implementation of actions from the Paving the Way Forward initiative across the North Melbourne and Flemington public housing estates.

The Paving the Way Forward initiative commenced in early 2021, to support and work alongside the residents of the two estates as well as local government and service delivery partners to embed residents' views and ideas into the decisions affecting their homes, neighbourhoods and services.

To support transition and to provide residents clarity, the work of Paving the Way Forward from 2021 to 2023 is referred to as Phase One. Phase Two (2023 to July 2025) will build on the learnings of Phase One and provide a targeted work plan focussing on the priority areas of resident voice, employment opportunities and improved maintenance.

As Estate Community Engagement lead, you will have oversight for generalist resident and key stakeholder engagement and communication across the two estates. This will include oversight and delivery of the North Melbourne and Flemington Local Action Plans; coordination with local stakeholders, including service providers, local government, other government departments toward better access to and coordination with services and responses for residents; effective partnership and support to Ascot Vale and North Melbourne housing offices to support resident engagement; and the broader promotion of learnings across other public housing estates within Western Melbourne Area.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

Provide oversight of the further implementation of the Paving the Way Forward initiative across the North Melbourne and Flemington public housing estates. Provide oversight, monitor, or deliver projects under the Local Action Plans, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the desired quality. Provide generalist engagement and establish positive and effective relationships with residents of the two estates through community engagement approaches such as meetings, education approaches and targeted conversations.
