Role

The Director of Sports and Cocurricular Engagement will work with the school leadership team, Sports and Physical Education staff, school community and key outside stakeholders to lead and manage the school¿s flagship co-curricular program in Sports and physical recreation. They will ensure that there are high quality opportunities for students to participate in programs which have a positive impact on learning and wellbeing outcomes.
 

The Director of Sports and Cocurricular Engagement will have operational oversight of a number of key programs and facilities in the school. They will provide advice to the college leadership team, and manage systems, processes and budgets to ensure that co-curricular programs in the Sports and physical recreation are of a high quality, safe, and sustainable for students, staff and the school community.

Responsibilities

Working with the school leadership team and DET resources to develop a shared view of a highly effective co-curricular program in the Arts and Performing Arts that supports improvement in student outcomes. Planning and managing an extensive suite of co-curricular programs and events in The Arts and Performing Arts and ensuring that these are well organised, staffed and resourced effectively. Providing advice to the college leadership team, and managing systems, processes, and budgets where relevant to co-curricular programs. Working with the College Curriculum Leader and Arts Domain Leader to support alignment between the school¿s curricular and co-curricular programs in The Arts and Performing Arts. Leading and modelling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to practice improvement, curriculum planning and delivery Ensuring that the college is managing risk in line with DET requirements, and that an organisational culture of Child safety is being strengthened and embedded at all times. Providing visible and supportive leadership to the school community at all times, in line with the values of both Mill Park Secondary College and DET. Any other duties as required by the Principal.

Who May Apply

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

VIT LANTITE

To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.
