Job summary

The Cyber Assurance Coordinator is responsible for managing Cyber Security across all assets and systems controlled by the Submarine Capability Delivery Team (SM CDT). Through interrogation of systems and assets the Cyber Assurance Coordinator will provide the Operational Duty Holder (ODH) with assurance that threats to platform availability from cyber vulnerabilities will be identified early with appropriate action taken.�

The Cyber Assurance Coordinator is accountable to the RAIDO Manager.�

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

As directed by the RAIDO Manager, manage the delivery of Cyber Security (�Cyber Security� is defined as the application of technologies, processes, policies and controls to protect systems, networks, programs, devices and data from cyber-attack) across the SM CDT.

Provide support for the implementation of any new Cyber Security Programmes designed to combat increasing cyber risks or address any security assessment recommendations.

Manage the design and delivery of any Cyber Security training requirements deemed appropriate across the SM CDT.

To liaise closely with external organisations with regards to matters or cyber security and cyber vulnerabilities.

To maintain awareness of best practice on Cyber Security issues and to provide advice on any additional security controls considered appropriate.

Experience:

Experience working in a Naval environment is preferred but not essential. The individual will have appropriate experience within the cyber domain.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working.� This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
