Facility/Construction Project Coordinator - Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth VA - On Site

Job Type: Full-time


GoldenWolf is seeking a skilled and experienced Facility/Construction Project Coordinator to join our team on site at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. This role involves comprehensive project management and technical oversight, ensuring compliance with standards, coordinating stakeholders, monitoring construction activities, and detailed reporting.


Key Responsibilities:


Field Surveys and Reporting

  • Assess existing layouts and conditions through field surveys
  • Prepare weekly status reports for government officials

Compliance Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to NFPA codes, UFC, Joint Commission standards, and safety regulations
  • Coordinate with infection control and safety officers
  • Report compliance issues to appropriate government officials

Quality Control and Monitoring

  • Execute Construction Quality Management (CQM) functions
  • Review designs, submittals, schedules, and work performance
  • Participate in final on-site inspections and make recommendations

Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with hospital staff, contractors, and various stakeholders
  • Coordinate utility outages and provide engineering support
  • Attend and participate in project-related meetings
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management + 5 years of healthcare construction/project management experience, OR 10 years of relevant experience without a degree
  • Knowledge off NFPA99/101 Life Safety Codes, ILSM, and ICRA protocols
  • Understanding of medical facility management and The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation criteria
  • Familiarity with various building systems in healthcare facilities

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis systems
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
