Job Description:

What you will do

This position will maintain and coordinate schedules for the hospital's direct care staff. This position communicates directly with units to schedule staff and answer questions. This position provides support and assistance to the Program Nurse Managers, Nurse Managers, and Director of Nursing for each program.

Shifts and days off will vary. The Oregon State Hospital is a 24/7 Facility with varied working hours which will include weekends and/or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data

OR

  • An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data

OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Attributes:

  • Staffing experience in a medical or similar facility

  • Experience using computers, entering and retrieving information, creating, and maintaining spreadsheets, and knowledge of using an electronic scheduling system.

  • Experience performing a variety of administrative tasks requiring decision-making within established laws, rules, policies, procedures, and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions.

  • Ability to use a multi-Line phone system – dealing with large amounts of inbound and outbound calls.

  • Effect communication on a regular basis in person and on the phone.
