The Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Information Systems Specialist 5 (Network Administrator) position.

What will you do?

In this position, you will provide the primary design, planning, operational, and customer assistance resource for the hardware and communications supporting infrastructure used by OSP.  You will participate in administering OSP’s Active Directory infrastructure including the evaluation and introduction of new information security technology for all shared computer resources. This computing environment includes a complex client/server infrastructure based on multi-platform, multi-vendor distributed statewide computing.  You will share in the responsibility to ensure that the current and future needs of our customers are met.  You will provide expert advice for computer administration and for policy and procedure.  You will work independently, making decisions that contain high risk and the potential for high impact.

Minimum Qualifications (these must be addressed in your resume for full consideration):

(a) Four (4) years of information systems experience including Microsoft Server and Active Directory administration.

OR

(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;

AND

two (2) years of information systems experience including Microsoft Server and Active Directory administration.

OR

(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Preferred Skills (these must be addressed in your cover letter for full consideration):

  • Demonstrated experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange.

  • Demonstrated skill in Microsoft license management and provisioning/deprovisioning objects.

  • Demonstrated skill in design, development, testing and troubleshooting business systems environments. 

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise level software used for delegated administration, specializing in Microsoft server management and technologies.

  • Proficient in current technologies, system and process development methods, reports, dashboards, and the use of computing resources at all levels. 

  • Demonstrated skill and ability to collaborate with teammates and build positive business relationships with superiors, subordinates, peers, and others outside of their organization.

Special Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

  • Must be LEDS certified or be able to obtain certification upon hire.
