Our Optum Medica BPO operations team provides backend support for Medica's benefit configuration, billing, enrollment, claims, encounters, and call center needs. In this role, you will provide learning support to operations staff through the design, development, and delivery of learning solutions. You will partner with leadership and SMEs to determine and propose performance improvement solutions, including training or other activities to ensure learning transfer occurs and performance gaps are met. You will work across the full spectrum of learning support-new development, management of existing content, delivery of instructor-led learning experiences-to increase the performance of our team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop onboarding, upskilling, continuing education, and performance improvement training using appropriate mediums (e-learning, virtual facilitation, blended learning, job support, etc.)
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Follow industry standard design and delivery process model(s) for assigned projects
  • Meet deadlines and effectively pivot to accommodate changing business priorities
  • Anticipate business needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills and solid interpersonal skills
  • Facilitate classes (occasionally as required

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design within a corporate environment
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Excel
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Articulate 360 (or other rapid e-learning development software)
  • Experience working with business leaders to develop training plans and curriculums
  • Experience with critical thinking skills through analysis, assessment/evaluation, explanation, problem solving, and decision making

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in instructional design within a corporate environment
  • 2+ years of experience administering a learning management system (LMS)
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with multiple deliverables
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Audacity (or other audio recording/editing software
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop, Acrobat
  • Novice level of proficiency with Camtasia (or other video editing software)
  • Novice level of proficiency with Adobe InDesign
  • Healthcare experience

Soft Skills:

  • Solid time management, organizational, prioritization skills, and ability to balance multiple priorities and last-minute changes
  • Experience with effective interpersonal, collaboration, and listening skills and drive for results
  • Experience understanding the value of relationships with the team and business partners
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity (e.g., writing content on topics you are not the expert, reconciling conflicting information, etc.)
  • Ability to comprehend complex topics, processes, and specialized information and simplify them for the learner

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
