Position Summary
The role of an Industrial Engineering Intern involves contributing to the production of medical device capital equipment. This hands-on engineering position reports directly to the Production Supervisor. You will play a vital role in manufacturing support by analyzing production challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement lean methodologies, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Observing operations to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency enhancements.
- Designing streamlined production processes and workflows.
- Ensuring that all processes are aligned with quality standards.
- Minimizing waste and resolving production challenges.
- Reviewing production schedules, processes, and specifications for optimization.
- Analyzing data to drive technological advancements in production.
- Establishing controls to monitor costs and mitigate production issues.
- Identifying potential facility locations and planning layout designs.
- Collaborating with various departments to establish production standards.
- Designing facility layouts and determining personnel needs related to production.
- Assisting in the creation of instructional materials for production staff.

- Generating documentation and reports related to processes.
