Description

General Overview:

As the Director, HR, this role will be deeply involved with the company's long-term personnel planning and strategy. This is an instrumental role in maintaining an organized and highly efficient HR department and the keystone of the HR function at the Company. This position will hold the responsibility to ensure that all human resources operations are carried out smoothly and effectively. This position requires a profound, in-depth knowledge of human resources practices.

At FusionAuth, people come first, and therefore this role will be tasked with creating and managing various projects and processes in support of recruiting, developing, and retaining our people. These processes include: recruiting, onboarding, training, performance reviews, compensation administration, compliance, and employee data changes. This role will be equal parts creator, builder, manager, administrator, and leader. So be prepared to roll up your sleeves and dive into a fast-paced and thriving team culture.

This newly created role will eventually hire its team as the company scales. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with all facets of the organization and external parties

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a team through significant scale change and organizational development
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day HR activities of the company, including recruitment, benefits, employee development and compliance.
  • Develop, establish, and implement pragmatic policies and procedures for a quickly growing company, and continue to monitor and improve procedures as needed
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to locate, screen, and onboard motivated and qualified candidates for a rapidly expanding workforce
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards and anticipate and resolve litigation risks
  • Development of a learning-centric company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision, and lead employees to encourage maximum performance and motivation
  • Drive processes for transactional services through the HRIS as lifecycle events occur, e.g., new hires, transfers, terminations, promotions, leaves of absence, etc. and proactively collaborates with other teams to ensure proper processing of information
  • Performing market analysis on compensation packages and recommend adjustments as deemed necessary
  • Oversight and delivery of the annual open enrollment process
  • Other duties as needed

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Human Resource experience overseeing or touching all aspects of HR
  • Experience with HRIS software required; experience with implementing software a plus
  • Proven experience in a leadership position, preferred at start-up or rapid growth companies
  • Must have experience growing and/or scaling a business unit or organization and have strong business acumen and leadership skills at the most senior levels
  • Experience developing high performing, diverse, and sustainable internal and external talent pipeline as well as assessing, hiring, developing, and coaching talent is required
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
  • Diligent and firm with high ethical standards
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
  • Degree in related discipline or equivalent HR Certification (PHR/SHRM) encouraged
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law including HR technical knowledge of EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and workers compensation, investigation processes, compensation practices, and benefit programs

The expected base salary range that we are targeting for this position can be adjusted up or down based on individual qualifications.
