Job Description

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a FFG Class Design Services Program Coordinator at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.

POSITION SUMMARY

The FFG Class Design Services (CDS) Program Coordinator is a junior level professional who has demonstrated some ability within a program management, finance, contract/subcontract, or analytical capacity. The Program Coordinator will prepare management control (financial/business planning, scheduling, meeting minutes, etc.) artifacts and reporting for complex systems, programs, projects, and/or tasks. This person may contribute to some or part of the following topics of program integration: outsourcing, risk and opportunity management, integrated scheduling, formatting and use of proprietary markings, program metrics reporting, and compliance. This position will be assigned to support the FFG Program Management team at FMM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Position may involve regular interaction with all levels of FMM's operations/senior staff, customer's regulatory bodies, and major suppliers.
  • Has excellent written and verbal skills to interface with all levels of the organization through the attendance of meetings and written memos.
  • May interface directly with FMM supply chain vendors and the Navy.
  • Collects and develops Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents and data for submission to the Navy. Additionally the Program Coordinator will track and manage the submissions from other departments to ensure compliance with the contract.
  • Be familiar with Information Management and Knowledge Management -- organize and store information for configuration control.
  • Prepares miscellaneous associated reports, charts and graphs on program, project or contract status and makes presentations to management to keep them apprised.
  • Assists in the preparation of a Project Management Plan which includes creating a project schedule, description of scope and deliverables, project team composition, measures of effectiveness, and risk/opportunity related to the project.
  • Provides assistance to project managers, coordinating efforts with vendors and other members of the project team for various projects.
  • Maintains/monitors management control requirements for designated projects and the CDS program. Analyzes and reviews all cost (time, materials, and equipment) information and data to ensure all phases of the statement of work are accounted for.
  • Supports the assessment of financial impact of project status to budget.
  • Monitors performance to contracts, assists with contract compliance, and reviews vendor status reports and project progress. Reviews vendor invoices.
  • May support risk analysis/evaluation; determine risk areas to cost or schedule, supports the development and maintenance of the risk/management plan. Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree and (2-4) years of experience or High School Diploma and (4-6) years of experience. Degree requirements are to be satisfied with a degree from an accredited college or university. Experience requirements can be met by work done in the following fields: project management administration, management control, accounting, contract/subcontract or other analytical role.
