The V3 Center (Phase One) is ready to open its doors to our community We will provide aquatics and fitness offerings, on-site childcare and a new home for the Boys and Girls Club. Our goal is to begin the Phase Two expansion (adding a 50-meter pool, basketball courts, a track, and more) at the end of 2024 and complete it in 2027.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as V3 Sports's Maintenance Manager provides an opportunity to perform an essential role in setting a high standard of care to ensure the beautiful V3 Sports Center facility will last for generations.

Responsibilities include the following:

Facility Maintenance

  • Tracking and executing the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance needed on all V3 Center building systems including HVAC equipment, pool filtration, elevators, drinking fountains, boiler systems, irrigation, turnstiles and some A/V equipment.
  • Coordinating with external contractors for warranty repairs of all equipment.
  • Collecting bids for repairs and projects as needed.
  • Providing regular testing of building safety equipment as required.
  • Performing light building repairs or small general carpentry projects as needed.
  • Providing brief training on systems for part-time employees as needed.
  • Creating and maintaining inventory of facility equipment and supplies.
  • Assisting the Operations Director with long-term maintenance plans, facility inspections, and ordering/maintaining equipment and supplies.

Custodial Support

  • Leading the regular cleaning and upkeep of both the Genesis pool and therapy pool.
  • Assisting with general cleaning of facility in the absence of custodial staff.
  • Assisting with snow removal at building entrances in support of the contracted snow removal services.
  • Assisting with deep cleaning efforts on an as-needed basis.

Other

  • Maintaining clean and functional storage areas.
  • Providing creative support and solutions for program staff as able.
  • Assisting with setup and tear down of facility rentals and events.
  • Assisting with landscaping duties in the absence of contracted landscaping team.
  • Providing support and direction to Fitness Attendants as needed.
  • Assist with emergency responses and evacuations.

Who You Are

  • You have two or more years in building maintenance or custodial operations.
  • You are willing to learn new systems and troubleshoot equipment.
  • You can demonstrate reliability in working with limited supervision.
  • You are disciplined in maintaining schedules and keeping good records of work.
  • Possess general mechanical aptitude.
  • Moderate computer literacy.
  • Understands the importance of customer service and being professional.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the public.
  • You are trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. If applicants do not already possess these certifications, training will be provided by V3 upon hiring.
  • Boilers license and Pool Operator license are preferred but not required.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports' driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
