Position Summary

The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems. This role will bring expertise in both traditional on-premises and cloud-based environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

  • System Design: Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions based on business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Server Administration: Administer Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Virtualization and Cloud Computing: Manage virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies. Deploy and manage cloud services on platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Security Implementation: Implement and maintain security measures, to protect the organization's data and systems from threats based on direction from the Security Team.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data and systems in the event of a disaster or system failure.
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization. Implement performance tuning strategies to improve system efficiency and reliability.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to enhance overall technical expertise.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, cybersecurity specialists, and vendors to support IT initiatives and resolve technical issues promptly.

Minimum Qualifications (These are the requirements that all applicants MUST HAVE to be considered for this position)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3 years experience in Windows environments as a systems' administrator/engineer.
  • Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft based environments.
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of Microsoft application stacks.
  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably in Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with virtualization utilizing VMWare.
  • Experience with monitoring systems (i.e., Solarwinds)
  • Solid power shell scripting skills.
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • The office environment requires the use of standard office equipment and personal computers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science, Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in Windows environments as a systems' administrator/engineer.
