The Systems Engineer is tasked with the design and simulation of audio systems, optimizing these systems in software, ensuring proper deployment, and conducting final tuning within the venue. This role includes managing and supervising company personnel during events, ensuring the concert sound system and related equipment are installed and operated in accordance with company protocols and safety standards. The Systems Engineer holds the primary responsibility and authority over system operations and the road staff assigned to specific events, acting as the main point of contact between the company and the client when serving as Crew Chief.

  • Consistent display of technical education aligned with company equipment operating standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in technical scenarios.
  • Demonstrated adherence to company safety protocols.
  • Exhibited leadership qualities within a team environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of company and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and possess a valid passport.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and endure long periods of standing and working.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a field related to audio technology is strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of field experience with professional audio equipment and completion of basic company protocol training, including safety management.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Support Clair's Mission and Core Values.

  • Manage front-of-house equipment and interface with sound systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with system components.
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the front-of-house or monitor mixer to achieve desired system performance.
  • Facilitate company efforts to foster relationships in the field, acting as an extension of the sales department.
  • Oversee project assignments regarding equipment preparation and collaborate with operations and sales departments to meet client specifications.
  • Maintain company equipment and ensure the complete touring inventory is returned post-event.
  • Supervise Clair employees in the field as Crew Chief, applying disciplinary actions when necessary and reporting personnel issues to management.
  • Assist in training new employees in the field.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and monitor other employees for compliance.
  • Assess client satisfaction regarding company services in the field.
  • Communicate any client dissatisfaction with equipment or audio results to the sales department or executive management, following up with corrective actions as needed.
  • Possess working knowledge of company sound reinforcement systems and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with venue and sound system modeling software.
  • Capable of operating and managing multiple channels of RF devices.
