Dress for Success Cincinnati is one of the few programs in the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State area focused specifically on the needs of unemployed and under-employed women and their families. Our successful programs empower women first to secure employment and ultimately to thrive in their careers, their lives and their communities.

THE ROLE

The Vice President of Development plays a key role in the advancement of DFSC's important mission and purpose. As the VP of Development, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of philanthropic strategies, aligned with DFSC's strategic plan. This includes overseeing, managing, and executing fundraising efforts - including major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation, and grant oversight; and is responsible for identifying, organizing and managing fundraising activities with a focus on new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from individuals, corporations, and public and private organizations.

As the VP of Development, you will:

  • Create a departmental vision, build and implement the plan, and measure and report the outcomes
  • Manage portfolio of donors and prospective donors and move them through the identification, cultivation, close-the-gift, and stewardship process
  • Lead staff and volunteers on the planning, management, and execution of fundraising events, including The Fashion Show, and donor appreciation events
  • Lead corporate sponsorship strategy
  • Develop and supervise grant strategy
  • Develop and supervise marketing strategy
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of two, including Marketing & Communications Specialist and Grant Writer
  • Be a fearless and consistent advocate of equity, inclusion, and diversity at all levels of the organization

The skills and experiences you need to be successful as the VP of Development include:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Prior management and leadership experience.
  • Measurable evidence of success in previous fundraising and development.
  • Ability to think strategically, set challenging and appropriate goals, be proactive, and take ownership of getting outcomes.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop, and implement strategies for successful donor engagement and fundraising results.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills across diverse groups, organizations, and individuals.
