ASML brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips.

We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world's leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.

Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States.

ASML DUV Light source Software Competencies comprises of 4 teams, Embedded Software, Application Software, Test Automation, and Software Integration.

Each team has different software expertise including real time control software, metrology applications, test systems, and customer facing server applications.

The software teams work together and with other cross functional teams to create new software products and features for the DUV Light source.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities
Establish direction and roadmap for the team to meet the goals of the larger organization.
Manage a team that designs, develops and qualifies software releases through the software development lifecycle.
Build and develop a high performance team who can successfully meet current and future goals.
Act as a role model, coach, and motivator to lead team in obtaining objectives.
Establish and maintain best practices in process, and ensure quality of deliverables.
Work with key cross functional stakeholders to align schedules and deliverables to ensure successful product delivery.
Ensure software releases are fully characterized and qualified in advance of release.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's or high degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Experience leading teams or projects.
A minimum of 8+ years working in software development.
Previous experience working in Software Management within an engineering software environment preferable.
Skills

Well-organized and strategic planning are requisite for this role in order to ensure products meet the requirements for performance, reliability, and time-to-market.

Deep understanding of all aspects of the software development lifecycle, management methodologies, and software competencies and skillsets
Understanding of software and data architecture and design principles.
Ability to understand and solve problems and lead others using problem solving methodologies.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence effectively in a large organization spanning multiple teams of hardware, software, algorithms and systems engineers and stakeholders.

Ability to present on complex technical subjects clearly and effectively.
Ability to lead and develop people effectively.

Other information
This position is located on-site in San Diego, California. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to 2 days a week)

Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

Occasionally required to move around the campus.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data.

Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan.

Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
