Partners with the UCSB based research team to design an app for data collection. Builds an Android-based application to capture, record, and transfer heart rate and audio clips from a smartwatch in an non-networked (no-cloud) setting. Designs and constructs a robust and durable in-situ data transfer system (no cloud capabilities). Conducts quality assurance and debugging processes on watch app.

Minimum Requirements

Prior Experience in App Design. Prior Experience in QA processes and debugging, data storage, and experience working with mobile environments in particular with smartwatches and tablets.

The successful candidate will need to be able to design an application for smartwatches and collaborate with the UCSB team in addition to the following:
1. Experience in QA processes and debugging.
2. Create/code a smartwatch application from start to finish (design through debugging) in an Android environment.
3. Experience in data storage, and if possible, management in resource-limited environments.
4. Experience in agile work methods and will have evidence of past successful partnerships with deliverables.
5. Experience working with mobile environments in particular with smartwatches and tablets.

Designs and builds an Android-based smartwatch application with the research team. The app will have three primary functions:

Record and store heart rate data with an accurate time stamp for a two-week period (total of 560 minutes of non-consecutive heart rate data)
Pre-programmed audio push notifications for a two-week time period (4 per day).
Record and store 90 second bursts of audio data (total of ~84 minutes).
