Department Overview
Children's Minnesota has the largest Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in Minnesota.

In the 30-bed PICU at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Campus, our interdisciplinary team of intensivists, nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, social workers and other professionals are dedicated to the advanced care of children with life- threatening critical diagnoses.

We specialize in caring for children with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses, including those with respiratory failure, neurological insults, complex post-operative recovery from extensive surgery, severe infections, fluid imbalances and multi-system organ failure.

Children's Minneapolis is an ACS Level I trauma center and our PICU cares for children who have experienced a wide range of traumatic events.

Many of our patients require assisted ventilation. We also utilize extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) when needed.

Our patient population requires complex care, including hemodynamic monitoring, critical medication management, maintenance of systemic perfusion and management of organ failure.

Our team balances a highly technical skill set with a family-centered approach. We rely on teamwork, with open and respectful communication, and promote an environment that encourages learning and professional growth. Our team is committed to providing excellent care to our patients and families.

Position Summary
Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.

Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Education
*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience
*One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities
*Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
*Strong organizational skills.
*Excellent customer service skills.
*Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
*Skills in basic computer operation.

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade.

We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs.

Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.


All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S.
