Community Associate Shift Supervisor Please Note:
This position is pending a contract awardIf you are interested in a future with Cherokee Federal, APPLY TODAY Although this is not an approved position, we are accepting applications for this future and anticipated needThe Community Associate Shift Supervisors will provide and oversee on-site trauma-informed social service delivery at city sanctuary hotels throughout New York CityWorking cooperatively with hotel operations and security staff, shift supervisors will welcome and engage migrant and asylum-seeking single adults, families with children or adult families (without children)Supervisors will manage daily social service operations and provide n the ground support and supervision for community associates who are responsible for completing culturally sensitive assessments and making referralsCompensation &

Benefits:

o Estimated Starting Salary Range for Community Associate Shift Supervisor:
Based on experience.
o Pay commensurate with experience.

o Benefits are subject to change with or without noticeCommunity Associate Shift Supervisor Responsibilities Include:
o Overseeing social services operations and seamless transitions from one shift to the nexto Supervising and supporting community associates, including reviewing complete assessmentso Ensuring that community associates staff provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed serviceso Ensuring appropriate staff coverage and monitoring attendanceo Intervening in crises and counseling clients as neededo Planning and troubleshooting with operations and security staffo Coordinating interpretation and translation serviceso Troubleshooting with NYC Department of Education(DOE)o Coordinating interpretation and translation serviceso Troubleshooting with the Mayors' Office of Immigration Affairs (MOIA)o Providing coverage for community associate staff as neededo Meeting with operations and security staff for planning and site managemento Managing and documenting incidentso Managing and updating rosters and attendanceo Performs other job-related duties as assigned Community Associate Shift Supervisor Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
o Bachelors' degree or two years of relevant social services experience with people who are vulnerable and have experiences significant traumaPreferred:
Master's degree on social work or other human services field
two years of relevant experience working with people who enter the U/Sseeking asylum.

o Spanish/English bilingual fluency required, and additional languages preferred include French, Haitian Creole, Wolof, Pular, Fulah and other western African dialects.

o Strong understanding of trauma and how it manifests, as well as experience delivering trauma informed culturally sensitive serviceso Excellent verbal and written communication skillso Ability to learn quickly and problem-solve under pressure and within prescribes timelineso Strong organizational leadership skillso Ability to work independently and manage teamo Working knowledge of immigration laws and procedureso Strong understanding of child development, child welfare, and education requirementso 2
years experience supervising social services staff in the delivery of culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services, desiredo Solid understanding of immigration laws, regulations, procedures, and benefits/entitlementso Experience working on-site in a congregate housing settingo Experience working on-site in a congregate housing settingo Experience working with the NYC Department of Education and Administrations for Children's Services' child welfare systemso Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to:
Community Engagement Supervisor, Shift Coordinator, or Community Operations Shift Lead.
