Durham, North Carolina, United States Spreedly Full time

Spreedly is the world's leading Payments Orchestration solution. Our vision is that the world is better with a diversified, inclusive payment ecosystem. Our mission is to accelerate commerce with an open, secure, and flexible payment platform that welcomes all payment participants. Backed by Spectrum Equity, with a $75M investment, Spreedly is experiencing rapid growth.

We now serve 600 customers globally. Many of these direct customers are platforms and marketplaces that have thousands of their merchants leveraging our payments platform. Our customers include industry leaders in digital goods, order ahead and delivery, online marketplaces, donation/giving platforms, event ticketing, and financial services.

Our employees help us execute against our vision through building a culture focused on autonomy, transparency, and collaboration in a dynamic, high-growth organization.

About the Role:

As the Strategic Account Manager, your role will be focused on establishing and nurturing strategic accounts within Latin America and Spanish-speaking regions. You'll be tasked with cultivating relationships with our premier customers in these areas, ensuring their success, and driving business value tailored to their specific needs.

Your approach will involve aligning our solutions with the primary business initiatives of our Latin American and Spanish-speaking clients to maximize mutual benefits. Acting as a consultative and trusted advisor, you'll serve as the executive contact for these customers, effectively communicating Spreedly's value proposition within their ecosystem.

Your main objective will be to lead the overall account strategy, foster strong relationships, and expand our presence within the customer's organization and its subsidiaries in Latin America and Spanish-speaking regions. This will entail fostering cross-functional collaboration and alignment among various departments and teams to address strategic and product-related inquiries effectively. At times, it may necessitate conducting external research or leveraging prior background knowledge within the focal region to inform Spreedly's decisions.

Furthermore, as a Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and creating solid internal partnerships to ensure consistency and uniformity in serving our premier accounts. Your role will also encompass owning the growth strategy within these accounts, driving expansion and maximizing their potential.

This role is open to candidates who currently reside in Durham, North Carolina or on the East Coast of the United States. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of two days a week to be spent in our headquarter office in Durham, NC, or, for candidates on the East Coast, frequent visits to our office in Durham, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic account strategy focused on the Latin America payments landscape and Spanish-speaking regions. This strategy will drive new revenue generation for Spreedly and will be action-oriented, aligning with the needs of customers at the Board/C-Suite level.
  • Utilize value-selling strategies to demonstrate how Spreedly's solutions address the specific needs of Spanish-speaking customers in Latin America. Use business cases with identified metrics and ROIs to illustrate tangible benefits.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the industry, market trends, and customer pain points within the Latin America payments landscape. Offer tailored solutions that provide customers with a competitive advantage.
  • Manage both tactical and strategic aspects of the business, investing in long-term opportunities while addressing immediate priorities.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners to develop integrated, multi-product solutions that drive significant business outcomes for customers in Latin America.
  • Build and maintain trust and credibility with customers, positioning yourself as a reliable and valued advisor.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence through accurate forecasting and demand generation for Spreedly's offerings.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment with leadership throughout Spreedly to accelerate growth and adoption of investment plans.
  • Develop tailored account plans for premier accounts in Latin America, aligning them with Spreedly's overall strategy.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and coordination between business units and other Strategic Account Managers to maximize synergies.
  • Gather, prioritize, and drive business requirements that enhance Spreedly's strategy and execution in Latin America.
  • Create a strategic account map and plan with project milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs) tailored to the Latin America market.
  • Accurately forecast your book of business' bookings and revenue growth and the timing of deal closure through both renewals and expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholder teams to ensure successful execution of the strategic plan.
  • Continuously measure and analyze metrics, delivering key insights to drive further investments in the Latin America and Spanish-speaking markets.

Requirements:

  • In-depth experience and strategic mastery of the payments industry.
  • A high level of proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • 5-7 years of extensive experience in consulting, customer success, or account management roles, with a focus on achieving and exceeding growth targets.
  • Substantial prior experience at a senior level in a growth-stage SaaS company, demonstrating leadership and strategic impact.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully expanding accounts and significantly increasing contract value.
  • Extensive experience selling and strategizing commercial-based solutions, with a deep understanding of market trends and competitive landscapes.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Continued curiosity and commitment to learning about evolving payment strategies and growth drivers for key accounts.
  • Proficiency in driving strategic value at the executive level, coupled with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across various levels. Comfortable navigating diverse personalities and managing teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Superior customer service, negotiation, and closing skills with a track record of securing high-value deals.

Spreedly is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We actively work to drive out even unintentional discrimination in our hiring processes via practices like blindly graded work samples, structured interviews, and diversity awareness training.

Due to the sensitive nature of what Spreedly does - handling payment data - finalist candidates must complete a successful background and reference check.

At this time Spreedly is unable to provide sponsorship for employment, and we are not set up to support remote employees who reside in California or New York. In order to be considered for employment, applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the job location country and not require future sponsorship in order to continue working in that country.
