The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

This position will function as the Manager for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) Background Investigation Unit (BIU) with primary responsibility over the mandated and non-mandated Correctional Officers Background Investigation (BI) Process. The BI Unit provides background investigation services to the agency for Institutional support staff hiring, parole and probation hiring, non-mandated support staff for DPSCS and vendor staff.\r

Duties include but are not limited to:\r

\r
Determining the suitability of each correctional� officer and Parole and Probation agent\r
Supervising the processing of DPSCS support staff applicants by appropriate BI staff\r
Creating and maintaining computer generated reports for statistics regarding DPSCS Background Investigations Unit\r
Liaising with other HR units, Police and Correctional Training Commission (PCTC) staff, and Department of Parole and Probation (DPP) staff\r
Recommending and developing new policies, procedures and forms\r
Overseeing contracts related to the Background Investigation Process\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\r
\r
\r
Experience: Four(4) years of professional HR experience involving talent acquisition and full cycle recruitment processes. At least two (2) years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.\r
\r
\r
Note: Professional HR management work in the areas of recruitment and selection, classification, salary administration, test development and validation or as a generalist may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.\r

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years' experience in employment background investigations or\r
security clearances.�\r
Experience in full cycle Recruitment or Talent Acquisition.�\r
