Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigator to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Senior Investigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and accountability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into misconduct allegations and complaints, ensuring that all evidence is gathered and analyzed in a secure and timely manner.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of investigators, providing guidance and support to ensure that all investigations are conducted to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement effective investigation strategies and procedures, ensuring that all investigations are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Executive Director and other senior leaders, to ensure that all investigations are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare and present investigation reports and findings to senior leadership and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise recommendations for action.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and other organizations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Five years of full-time paid investigative experience, with at least three years of experience in conducting investigations involving evidence gathering, witness interviewing, and case file maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and correlations among data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Experience in an Internal Affairs Unit or in an administrative position reviewing misconduct investigations.
