HYBRID ROLE; MUST BE LOCAL TO BOSTON, MA

Job Purpose:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the review, coding, and payment of vendor invoices and employee expense reports. This is an extremely important role in the Company as it is core to the accurate and timely invoicing of our clients. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountant on a daily basis. Other duties will be assigned as the Staff Accountant comes up to speed, including supporting the month-end close process and third-party audits.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the entire accounts payable cycle from receipt of invoices, coding/entering the invoices into the accounting system for multiple entities, and obtaining approvals for payment
  • Review employee expense reports for compliance with Company policies
  • Review, record, and process payment for the monthly credit card statement
  • Develop budget/forecast projections for expenses
  • Support the month-end close by preparing schedules/analyses and preparing/entering journal entries
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work closely with Accounting Team on special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience/ Education:

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or business is required.
  • Experience in a multiple entity organization is a plus.
  • Skills: Ability to work efficiently with web-based software and Excel spreadsheets; strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must.
  • Traits: Organized, high-integrity, confidential, strict attention to detail, dependable, deadline oriented, quality focused, good listener/communicator.
  • Other: Energetic, highly motivated, team player; discretion and confidentiality are essential as the position deals with highly confidential information.
