Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Coordinator, Corrections-Based Programs with Extension located in Las Vegas, NV. The Coordinator will develop, plan, implement and manage programming and activities in corrections-based settings (e.g., justice-involved) in an effort to facilitate a healthy, sustainable recovery and reduce recidivism. The coordinator will connect and collaborate with youth and adult institutions, correctional facilities, prisons, jails, juvenile detention centers and family courts to identify needs and provide programming and resources and to engage justice-involved individuals in sustainable recovery and mental health practices. Areas of focus include coordination with state, county and city government and agency leadership (municipal and judicial judges, family and specialty courts, Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) management, Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) metro officers and program personnel, juvenile detention center personnel, etc.) to expand reach and deliver Extension programming; recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of programming staff; recruitment, training and oversight of students/interns and correctional/clinical professionals (as part of a professional development and train-the-trainer model); program needs assessment, monitoring, evaluation and reporting; and fiscal management of programs and activities. The Coordinator will implement and oversee recovery and mental health education programs, workshops and activities that augment existing treatment and recovery efforts through engagement in sustainable practices that encourage long term recovery and reduce recidivism.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of relevant work experience; OR

Master's degree and one (1) year of relevant work experience. Related Experience:

Community partnerships and implementation of community-based programs, Social Work or Public Administration or a related field

Certification and Licensure

Driver's License

Schedule and Travel Requirements

Regular travel throughout Clark County is required for this position.
