Data Engineering Specialist
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a skilled professional to join our team at KBR in the role of Data Engineering Specialist.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the deployment and integration of a significant data analytic project known as Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) across various DoD ranges and labs.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to either work from one of our facilities or from the comfort of your home, provided you have a reliable internet connection.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and integrate the CHEETAS project into multiple DoD ranges and labs
- Collaborate with data science and software engineering teams to showcase potential insights from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data
- Configure Big Data and Knowledge Management tools in an enterprise setting
- Troubleshoot various tools within the Big Data ecosystem
- Engage with stakeholders and functional teams of different experience levels
- Become a subject matter expert in CHEETAS deployment
- Work closely with system administrators and developers to resolve deployment issues
- Provide deployment services to different DoD testing Ranges and acquisition programs
- Deploy CHEETAS in diverse environments, including DoD vaults with limited connectivity
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers experiencing CHEETAS for the first time
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM fields (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, etc.) and 710 years of relevant experience
- 5 years of handson experience in big data environments
- 3 years of handson experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with various technologies such as Hadoop, SQL Server Big Data Cluster, Kubernetes, and more
- Active or Current Secret Clearance required, with Top Secret Clearance preferred
Skill Set:
- Proficiency in tools like Helms Charts, YAML, Kubernetes, NFS, and more
- Ability to adapt to new business processes and application nuances regularly
- Strong problemsolving and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure
- Experience in mentoring and collaborating with diverse teams
- Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining big data systems
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in government/defense labs and their computing constraints preferred
- Knowledge of TENA, JMETC, Distributed Testing and Training, JSF, MDA, and DoD Cybersecurity policies are advantageous
