The ideal candidate will leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to facilitate enterprise architecture formulation, requirements analysis, system design, and verification processes. Responsibilities will include the creation and upkeep of both internal and external models within a collaborative framework to assist defense acquisition and evaluation operations. Additionally, the candidate will engage in mission engineering to formulate integration strategies, testing protocols, data analysis frameworks, and execute simulations for scenario-based assessments.

A solid understanding of Systems Modeling Language (SysML 1.x) and the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF 1.1 & 1.2) is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the formulation of system integration strategies, procedures, and scenarios for software and hardware testing, while analyzing integration outcomes to evaluate system impacts.
  • Employ MBSE tools (e.g., Dassault Systmes MagicDraw and Teamwork Cloud) to assist in requirements gathering, system design, and integration, as well as the development of enterprise capabilities and mission threads.
  • Create and maintain models utilizing languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and Unified Architecture Framework Modeling Language (UAFML).
  • Develop enterprise models that encompass strategic and operational perspectives with traceability to system architectures.
  • Construct system and system-of-systems models, generating representations through data architectures to enhance interoperability.
  • Utilize effective written, verbal, and presentation skills while collaborating in a team setting.
  • Review engineering documentation and model artifacts to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Engage in trade studies to identify preferred design solutions and alternative courses of action during project development.
  • Participate in technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies for projects and programs.
  • Analyze and evaluate systems and systems-of-systems using MBSE artifacts.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with additional experience considered as a substitute.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in systems engineering is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various MBSE tools such as Cameo, Magic Draw, and Rhapsody.
  • Knowledge of system architecture development and the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Understanding of system interface requirements and management.
  • At least two years of experience with one or more modeling languages: UML, SysML, or UAFML.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Desired:

  • Formal training in systems engineering.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Velocity.
  • Prior involvement with defense programs is preferred.
  • Experience in modeling with the Unified Architecture Framework.
  • Experience in Agile project environments.
  • Certification as an OMG Certified System Modeling Professional Model User or higher.
