About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Booz Allen Hamilton. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing complex data applications at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines to extract data from various sources, transform it into the required format, and load it into data warehouses or lakes.
  • Develop and maintain complex data applications using various programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data solutions that meet those needs.
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy machine learning models and other data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing data validation, cleansing, and enrichment techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and apply that knowledge to improve our data solutions.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, or ETL tasks, or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with data storage technologies, such as Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake.
  • Experience with data processing technologies, such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, or Databricks.
  • Knowledge of ETL best practices, data integration techniques, and data quality management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with data governance and data security frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
