What We Need

We are looking for a Senior Producer to join the 2K Core Games: Product team. As a Senior Producer, you will support our hard-working studio partners in developing quality games, from concept through post-launch updates, and assist in maintaining the creative vision of 2K's game franchises. A Sr. Producer is a player-obsessed leader and team-builder, capable of taking charge of a product, feature, or external team and unifying cross-functional teams and partners towards a specific set of goals. This role requires day-to-day leadership in support of a single AAA title, and/or the simultaneous management of work streams across multiple titles. Senior Producers are ultimately responsible for ensuring our titles ship in a timely manner and to a high degree of quality. Additionally, the Sr. Producer is expected to contribute to the growth of the larger Publishing Production group, whether through improving group-wide processes, or spearheading initiatives around training or sharing their institutional knowledge.

What You Will Do

  • Establish, maintain, and improve mutual collaboration with internal and external studios and teams to meet project schedules, quality goals and business objectives throughout the entire development life cycle
  • Collaborate with studio partners to ensure development priorities satisfy player expectations and quality goals, and that production schedules, project risks and cross-functional publishing roadmaps are aligned and maintained between studio and 2K.
  • Proactively drive creative solutions to address studio pain points and unblock development by bringing to bear the scale of 2K's shared services and network of vendors, cutting through red tape and finding opportunities to streamline and improve internal processes.
  • Ensure titles are set up for success regarding the full life of the franchise - including a post-launch strategies and in-market success KPIs
  • Validate product and feature budgets and maintain forecasts of the budget, anticipating, identifying, and resolving overruns with studios, outsourcing partners and other 2K publishing departments
  • Spearhead alignment and adherence to product quality targets, schedules, and budgets through clear expectation management, and iterative review and feedback cycles of milestone criteria per established contracts or internal processes
  • Ensure projects are set up for success in hitting quality targets through collaboration with 2K's User Research, Market Research, Data Insights and QA depts.
  • Coordinate with with internal partnerships and release management teams to shepherd projects throughout their lifecycle across all modern gaming platforms
  • Coordinate with internal partners, such as Marketing, QA, Product Management, Analytics, Localization, MoCap and finance to ensure alignment and timely execution of milestone deliverables and product launches
  • At times, directly lead a team of producers
  • Travel, both domestic and international, may be required

What Will Make You a Great Fit

  • 5-8+ total years of proven experience, either in an internal game development role and/or publishing production role
  • Have had a significant contributing role in developing & bringing multiple titles to market
  • Multiple years of experience with industry standard production/project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to lead to and deliver on hard product deadlines with rapid development cycles while being the guardian over product quality
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal & external studios, vendors, internal teams, and other critical resources
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), time and project management skills
  • Strong contextual communication skills. Is adept at communicating in all venues with appropriate level of detail and with the specific audience in mind
  • Is detail oriented, thrives in a fast paced environment and is comfortable leading meetings, taking notes and asking tough questions.
  • Has direct experience developing console and/or PC titles, and detailed knowledge of shipping processes on associated platforms
  • Ability to assess in-development quality, proactively foresee development challenges, and mitigate risks at all phases of development
  • Expected to be a proactive problem solver: identify and own any aspect of publishing production that may need support; no task is too small
  • Must demonstrate strong fiscal sense while supporting budget and scope expectations, both within the team and to executive management. Requires general knowledge of titles P&L processes.
  • Experience with industry-first parties (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) and seeing projects from concept to gold master

Bonus Points

  • Experience with AAA, large scale products preferred
  • 2 years of experience working on a Live game or service is a plus
  • 1-2 years working as a publishing producer preferred
  • Proven track record of using analytics systems to drive data informed product decisions (in development and post-launch) is preferred
  • Hands on experience with specific game development engines (UE/Unity/Custom) is a plus
  • Knowledgeable of game industry trends and markets is preferred
  • Experience building dashboards and reports, strong Excel skills is a plus
  • Degree in Computer Science, Communication or Technical Art field is a plus
  • Demonstrable history of People Management skills and/or Mentorship work is preferred

The pay range for this position in Washington at the start of employment is expected to be between $138,500 and $204,980 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
