(HDG), a regional civil engineering firm, has an immediate opening for a full-time Civil Engineering Project Designer I to join our award-winning Portland, Oregon team.

The successful candidate will work as a part of our team, serving a key role and contributing to delivering high-quality results to our clients.

Project types vary in scale and complexity and cover both private and public work within communities throughout the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area involving multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 0-2 years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated relevant experience
  • Basic experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Focused on client service and meeting deadlines
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work quickly, managing multiple and conflicting deadlines
  • High attention to detail and quality work
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and communicate with a team to complete tasks
  • Possess solid time management and follow-through skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu desired
  • EIT registration is desired but is not required.

Responsibilities:

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting to develop detailed drawings for the construction of civil engineering projects
  • Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate information; retrieve applicable jurisdictional data to ensure drawings incorporate the latest standards
  • Modify drawings based on red lines, markups, field notes, and other instructions
  • Maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation
  • Attend periodic site visits to monitor quality and construction work progress
  • Coordinate with a variety of local and federal agencies
  • Generate and compile submittal packages
  • Perform other duties as needed

HDG is located in a rejuvenated industrial building in the Central Eastside, right next to the railroad line where we can hear the familiar whistle and rumble of the trains working their way down the tracks every day.
