Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level leadership and supervision to a team of engineers and designers
  • Concurrently perform the work of those you supervise, ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Support key duties of the Project Manager/Project Engineer, including project planning, coordination, and execution
  • Assist in reviewing and updating project procedures, specifications, and standards
  • Work with the Project Engineer to set priorities for the team and ensure task completion
  • Coordinate work activities for team members and provide cross-functional representation
  • Mentor team members in professional development and performance management
  • Complete and deliver annual performance reviews for assigned staff
  • Provide input on disciplinary actions and adapt management to changing conditions

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in the Electric Utility Industry, with previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced field, drafting, and/or design knowledge
  • Identified leadership skills and ability to develop plans and organize work
  • Familiarity with basic concepts, practices, and procedures used in general personnel management
  • Strong technical knowledge, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic financial management skills and ability to learn and operate customer-based proprietary software
  • Availability to work during core hours and willingness to travel as needed
  • Dependable transportation and valid driver's license and insurance
  • Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check and authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
