About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join our team at ML6. As a key member of our multidisciplinary project team, you will be responsible for working on various civil engineering components, collaborating with professionals from geotechnical engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, surveying, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on civil engineering components of multidisciplinary projects as part of a team.
  • Utilize hydrologic evaluation, hydraulic design, site grading, and design of various systems to develop innovative designs.
  • Support the preparation of construction bidding documents, including construction drawings and specifications.
  • Compile plan sets and documents necessary for permitting applications to local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Participate in client meetings and coordinate client contact as requested by Associate Project Manager (APM) or Project Manager (PM).
  • Attend meetings with Planning Boards, Zoning, Selectmen, and local, state, and federal permitting agencies to learn about processes and support APM/PM as needed.
  • Keep managers informed of scheduling or project issues to ensure appropriate coordination of resources and client communication.
  • Provide monitoring or periodic inspection of ongoing construction projects.
  • Conduct on-site fieldwork to collect data to support design efforts.
  • Provide technical support for other staff during fieldwork activities, which may include on-site fieldwork (commensurate with experience/expertise).
  • Submit timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner with appropriate supporting comments and documentation/receipts.
  • Provide information and documentation as needed to support PM/SPM billing review process.
  • Track time to ensure accuracy and billing hours according to project budget parameters.
  • Control project costs and provide timely notification of variances.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in civil or similar field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Prior experience working for an engineering or environmental consulting company preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the state where practicing; or successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and on track to take the PE exam.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and other civil design-related software. Developing knowledge of Civil3D, at a minimum.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in using assigned modules of Project Management/Accounting software (Vision).
