Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Compliance/ Title 31 Officer will direct and coordinate activities related to the protection, safeguarding and security of company assets, employees, customers, and others. This role ensures that established goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with Tesuque Casino's expectations; ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and Tribal Gaming Regulations as well as compliance with the Casino's Internal Controls. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and administering Risk Management programs, BSA (Title 31), and departmental Internal controls and trainings.
Note: Native American preference will be given.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Prepares detailed reports pertaining to Internal Investigations of any losses or violations of POTDC/Tesuque Casino Regulations, Policies and Procedures, Tribal and State Laws and Liquor Ordinance
Works closely with the Tribal Gaming Commission to respond to all requests for information and commission reports requiring follow-up and corrective action.
Serves as Tesuque Casino's Title 31 Officer.
Audits, Reconciles, and Submits corresponding documents/reports to: BSA (Title 31), IRS, State and Commission reports and assessments.
Monitors and evaluates gaming operations for regulatory compliance while maintaining daily records.
Provides comprehensive oral and written reports with recommendations regarding the non-compliance with any of the provisions of Federal, State, or Tribal laws, regulations, or ordinances.
Audits the development, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of departmental internal controls and policy and procedures for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Performs bi-annual review of all departments.
Provides BSA (Title 31), Internal Controls, and Policies & Procedures training for all Casino personnel.
Monitors shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, removal, and storage of gaming devices regarding compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Audits any revisions and implementation of departmental Internal Controls and Policy and Procedures for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Performs bi-annual review of all departments while generating any reports of non compliance, weaknesses, and/or areas of concern.
Ensures Management, Team members, and vendors are in adherence with Policies, Procedures, and Internal Controls.
Provides training, guidance, and communication to all Casino personnel regarding regulatory and Internal Control requirements.

Ten 1O years of Compliance, or Audit, or Regulatory experience in a Class Ill Gaming enterprise or Gaming Commission.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required, but substantial direct experience in Auditing and Compliance may be substituted for the degree.
Ten (10) Years of Compliance, or Audit, or Regulatory experience in a Class Ill Gaming enterprise or Gaming Commission.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, and obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Pueblo of Tesuque Gaming Commission.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervision of any staff at this time.
Following initial training, Director of Compliance/ Title 31 Officer is expected to perform duties independently, demonstrating proficiency and autonomy in task execution. Regular spot checks are conducted to evaluate accuracy, adequacy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant rules, regulations, and policies.
Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time. The employee will be required to talk for extended periods and must be able to hear and understand. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to fifteen (15) pounds. The work environment includes a variety of settings in a casino environment. The incumbent occasionally exposed to loud noise, change in temperatures, and second-hand smoke.
Work Environment:Work is generally performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Due to the nature and scope of this position, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
