The Role

Experienced sales leader who will lead a strategic account sales team to further develop and expand the Wyndham footprint in partnership with Tour & Travel organizations. The goal of this team is to proactively work with Tour & Travel leadership to create new market opportunities that will mutually benefit both organizations. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning and execution of sales strategies, leveraging deep knowledge of the tour/travel, SMERF (social, military, educational, religious, and fraternal), and sports industries. The candidate will also execute leveraging multi-tier relationships that extends to Wyndham's existing customers. The Senior Sales Director will actively drive QBRs with key customers to further joint growth objectives and be accountable for achieving strategic objectives and driving win-win opportunities with Tour & Travel organizations.

What you'll do

Management & People Development:

  • Coach and develop strategic account sellers by managing individual performance, creating development plans, and providing hands-on sales skills training as needed
  • High level of focus on team development and establishing a customer-obsessed sales culture
  • Proactively resolve roadblocks to successful sales execution
  • Demonstrating high availability to the team and accounts

Sales Execution:

  • Engage in customer facing activities such as partner meetings and conferences to strengthen and expand relationships
  • Leverage existing Wyndham account relationships to drive new business with Tour & Travel accounts, leveraging a multi-tier sales model
  • Understands the Tour & Travel sales model in addition to Wyndham's chain scales, properties and quality levels to ensure end customer / property fit

Market & Sales Planning:

  • Based on knowledge of market and account dynamics, establish a robust strategic account plan in partnership with sales and Tour & Travel organization leadership
  • Monitor sales performance at the team and individual level
  • Own the sales recruiting plan and overall team budget

Sales Enablement:

  • Conduct deal reviews on key opportunities to provide guidance and identify internal resource needs to reduce deal risk
  • Conduct weekly pipeline review sessions to provide coaching to support forecast consistency and improved performance
  • Continuously identify and mitigate seller capability gaps

You'll be successful if you have

Leadership:

  • Develops relationships and establishes credibility with top executives of large and strategic Tour & Travel organizations; consistently brings new ideas to the table and encourages sellers to do the same
  • Strategically focused; provides clear, concise and compelling messages
  • Very strong listening, presentation and negotiation skills

Solution Selling:

  • Expert understanding of Wyndham strengths and offerings; ability to articulate the vision from the customer perspective to enable the selling team
  • Ability to strategically connect the dots and pursue opportunities with Tour & Travel organizations and other Wyndham corporate accounts to grow and expand revenues
  • Align and motivate Wyndham Tour & Travel sellers and Tour & Travel teams to seek win-win solutions
  • Ability to deepen and grow current customer relationships; strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

Business Acumen:

  • Advanced understanding of the Tour & Travel business model, as well as the overall market
  • Ability to assess market trends and advise Tour & Travel accounts regarding high-value opportunities worthy of joint sales effort

Technical Acumen:

  • Exceptional knowledge of the hospitality and travel industry
  • Expert-level territory management, negotiation and solution selling skills
  • Deep understanding of group travel market dynamics
Required Qualifications/Experience
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum 10 years previous working experience, including at least 5 years sales management experience
  • Experience in managing sales teams with a $50M+ quota target
  • Strong network of hospitality and tour/travel, sports and SMERF industry contacts
  • Solution selling skills
  • Experience with territory planning and sales forecasting
  • Previous Tour & Travel account experience highly preferred
