We are currently seeking a Human Resource Specialist to infuse new energy into our Hach & Rose team. Our Practice location in mid-town Manhattan is a welcoming and warm environment, intentionally designed to promote collaboration and foster creativity. The intention of this role is to create everyday customer service success, while supporting our Professionals in all they do to deliver the best results to our clients.

We expect you to be personally responsible for being on-time and present for every shift you work and always willing to go the extra mile for our team members and clients alike

Knowledge of Engage (or other payroll processing programs) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our Practice software.

Here's an example of what a Human Resource Specialist might do in a day:

Work with our Administrative team in supporting all onboarding needs of new team members. Conduct background checks and I-9 verifications. Complete all onboarding documents for new members.

Offboarding when necessary, including termination conversations and severance packages, if being offered.

Processing payroll, ensuring all time off is properly honored. Make sure time clocks are accurate to correctly process pay.

Work with Admins to adhere to our Practice Handbook. Recommend any needed updates to honor both the Practice and team.

Make sure all team members have completed any HR related paperwork or forms for compliancy.

Keep on top of in "real" time emails from team members or Admins.

Attend any necessary meetings for the firm as a whole or specific departments.

When needed assist and or lead full staff meetings quarterly.

Communicate any existing conflict with team members and mediate when necessary. Follow up all conversations with the appropriate HR emails documenting all.

Assist in all future hiring needs and interviewing alongside our Practice Administrator.

Maintain open communications with our full Administrative team, including the firm's Managing Partner.

Maintain annual sexual harassment training needs and records.

Support team members and Administrators with HR policies, procedures and employment law protocols. Utilize our HR attorney when needs arise.

Maintain confidential team records.

Gather and maintain all license information on attorneys and necessary Insurance coverage information.

Maintain and update all employee profiles in our payroll company platform.

Manage any court ordered garnishments within pay processing.

Provide any tax information that may be needed by team members.

Responsible for workers' compensation audits as needed.

TPA Liaison for the Practice and team. Work with company to prepare annual census information. Guide employees on the 401k plan and eligibility.

Medical benefits coordination. Work with broker on medical benefits and eligibility for team members. Leave coordination and documentation.

We're looking for someone who has:

3 or more years of experience in a Human Resource position. Courses or certifications are welcomed.

Available for in person opportunity (midtown Manhattan office)

Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a professional firm and experience in developing team members to enhance their customer service skills.

Excellent attention to detail and high follow through.

The ability to have crucial conversations with team members to outline needs for betterment.

A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Collaborative and comfortable in communications.

High level of HR compliance in the State of New York.

Outstanding teamwork/leadership skills and the ability work with a diverse group of people.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed.

Education:

High school or equivalent (Required)

College degree
