Responsible for the planning and execution of the day-to-day activities of the Health, Safety & Environmental department and employees to ensure policies are created and followed to provide a safe and healthful atmosphere within the workplace and to comply with all federal, state and local environmental regulations.
Required Education/Experience:- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years environmental compliance experience in manufacturing operations
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail and focus on quality work product
- Problem solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Operation, calibration, and maintenance of environmental testing or sampling equipment
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in other languages is a plus, i.e., Spanish, Vietnamese, Burmese
- Monitor federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials management, air quality, etc.
- Assist in developing and communicating internal and external environmental policies and programs to all departments
- Produce and maintain required regulatory reports, data, and permit applications
- Facilitate accurate, timely and efficient preparation of compliance reports and plans
- Provide technical support, advice, troubleshooting for environmental regulations (air, water, waste, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements
- Conduct sampling, monitoring, and inspections as required by permit and/or regulations
- Perform environmental monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting related to environmental management systems and permits
