The DEQ is currently seeking a full-time Air Quality Permit Writer and Inspector (Natural Resource Specialist 2). This role involves a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring compliance with environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and investigate pollution complaints.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to various stakeholders.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and process permits for defined air quality sources.
  • Document violations and recommend enforcement actions as necessary.

  • Ability to manage interactions with individuals in challenging situations.

Work Environment:

DEQ promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace. This position is based in the Northwest Region, with potential for hybrid work arrangements. Employees will receive necessary equipment to facilitate remote work. The role may require occasional travel for field assessments, compliance checks, and public meetings, with exposure to various environmental conditions.
