Job Summary: The Director Athletic Events and Operations assists with oversight and coordination of all event operations within the Athletics Department. Helps organize and manage of all SEC, NCAA, and outside events conducted by the department. Offers mentorship, instruction, and oversight to event staff and student workers. Plays a crucial role in assisting with the maintenance and preparation of athletics facilities.


Additional Department Summary: Serves as the primary contact for all internal and external agencies/groups. Develops, conducts, and executes SEC and NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Alabama Athletics Department at assigned facilities/sports. Provides guidance, trains, and helps supervise event staff and student employees. Manages designated facilities.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of experience in event planning, coordination or management; OR master's degree and four (4) years of experience in event planning, coordination or management.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge and comprehension of NCAA and SEC policies and procedures. Ability to work successfully in a multi-task environment. Knowledge of personal computers and standard software applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Strong, positive interpersonal skills.
