Job Summary: The Athletic Event Worker plays a crucial role in supporting various athletic events.
Detailed Department Overview: This position serves as the Emcee for athletic events at the University of Alabama. The individual is responsible for generating enthusiasm, maintaining audience engagement, and ensuring the event proceeds smoothly and punctually. The Emcee will monitor the event schedule, ensuring that each segment commences and concludes as planned. The role requires adaptability to manage unforeseen changes or delays to maintain the event's flow. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with Marketing and Promotions during athletic events. The primary focus will be on Volleyball, Baseball, and Women's Basketball events, with the possibility of serving as a backup Emcee for other athletic activities as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with some experience in serving as an Emcee for sporting events. Candidates should possess substantial knowledge of the relevant sports. Sample work and/or in-person auditions will be part of the selection process.
Background Check Requirement: Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation prior to hiring.
