Job Functions

Contribute to the development of Belk's DEI, CR, and AE strategy and initiatives.Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on all aspects of DEI, CR, and AE.Contribute to the design of DEI, CR, and AE programs, initiatives, and internal and external events.Support other Communications team members in various events/projects as needed.Execute special projects and other duties as assigned.Diversity, Equity, Inclusion: Partner and support Belk's Business Resource Groups through programming, strategy, and execution of events.Coach and build capability of senior leaders on approach and response to diversity & inclusion strategy and plans, anticipating and pre-empting organizational issues.Identify areas of improvement and opportunity within Belk's culture to continue our focus on belonging and inclusion.Build relationship with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders to scan for innovations and opportunities to form partnerships.Be an ambassador for DEI at Belk.Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of programming, strategies, and initiatives to understand the landscape for further improvement.Community Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of the community, stores, our customers, and other business partners.Assist with the planning and execution of all Cause Marketing campaigns including Spring and Fall Charity Sale.Work with various internal departments and stores to identify and launch key programs to drive traffic, sales, and our community message.Manage and maintain the company's volunteer program to include the development of new initiatives to align with our overall CSR strategies.Collaborate with Finance partners and manage various budgets across the company to include detailed recaps on spending and Community events.Associate Experience: Partner with HRBPs to ensure that tools and policies are aligned to enhance associate engagement and ultimately improve performance.Support initiatives designed to further the Associate Experience strategy, including, but not limited to, communication projects, internal events, and recognition initiatives.Minimum Education & Experience:Bachelor's Degree required.1-2 years of experience in executing events, programs, and initiatives as a professional in the Human Resources field at a company, ideally retail or direct to consumer business.Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge of current thinking and trends in Diversity & Inclusion, Community Relations, and Associate Engagement.Works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals, or groups.
