Responsibilities
We are seeking a licensed Attorney in Alabama to join our esteemed team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of civil trial procedures, excellent research capabilities, and superior written and oral advocacy skills. Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a caseload independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defending the company and its insured clients in civil litigation within Circuit and District Courts.
- Conducting depositions, responding to discovery requests, and reviewing medical records.
- Collaborating with clients and claims personnel to prepare litigation summaries and reports.
- Representing cases in court and preparing for trial proceedings.
Some local travel may be required, along with occasional out-of-state travel.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an A.B.A accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Active law license to practice in Alabama and good standing with the Alabama Bar.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance defense.
- Familiarity with local and state discovery rules and trial procedures.
- Proficiency in Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Word, Adobe, and legal management systems.
- Experience in a paperless electronic work environment.
- Eligibility to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Work Environment: This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring candidates to work both remotely and in the office.
