Job Description:

Summary:

T he Accounts Payable (AP) Manager oversees th e activities and functions of our A P team , which includes vendor paya ble s and employee expenses . Th is team member works closely with the A P team and with internal and external stakeholders on normal , day-to-day activities to provide guidance and support . This is a full-time, hands-on role with responsibility for supervising, training, and mentoring a team of Accounts Payable and Expense Report Administrators who process payables and related work daily. The Accounts Payable Manager works in a team environment to assist with the timely and efficient processing of vendor invoices , check runs, credit card activities, and expense reports . Th is hands-on leadership role serves as backup for team members who are out of the office.

Responsibilities and typical activities:

Overse e the Accounts Payable (AP) team's timely and accurate processing of invoices , payments, and transactions.Develop and maintain accounts payable policies and procedures.Monitor and analyze accounts payable processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.Collaborate with other s in Accounting and Finance and other internal groups to ensure timely and accurate processing and p aymen t of inv oices.Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or disputes related to payments or invoices.Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports as needed.Review vendor statements to ensure accuracy for aging A ccounts Payable.Provide strong leadership and direction to the Accounts Pay a ble team, including feedback, coaching, and developmental opportunities.Serve as the direct back-up for Accounts Payable team members , when necessary .Act as a point of contact for internal and external clients to address escalated accounts payable issu es.Other , related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a ccounting or closely related discipline with four years of related experience; a ssociates degree in a ccounting or closely related discipline with six years of related experience; or eight years of directly related experience.Experience working in a paperless accounting process environment.Knowledge of G enerally A ccepted Accounting P rinciples (GAAP) .Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel ( e.g., spreadsheets, formulas, and charts) and Outlook, along with Adobe Acrobat.Intermediate knowledge of an accounting software package .Intermediate knowledge of accounts payable methods and procedures.Effective task management and self-initiative, with a high attention to detail.Dedication to high-quality client service and prioritizing client expectations.Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Proven problem-solving skills.Demonstrated i nterpersonal skills and ability to collaborate as part of a team.Possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordLegal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience building and leading successful teams.Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantage point accounting software .Experience with multi-company and multi-currency accounting processes .Experience with vendor setup and maintenance.
