Position Summary:

The Director, Global Benefits and Mobility is responsible for developing and executing the global benefits and mobility strategies as well as providing the technical analysis, administrative oversight and support. The Director of Global Benefits and Mobility will partner with executives in all businesses and functions to provide impactful and efficient, benefit and mobility programs, plans and infrastructure. Additionally, he/she will set and deploy strategy for the centers of excellence, collaborate with the Global Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and HR field leadership teams to ensure total rewards programs support leadership development and management succession plans.

Under the direction of the VP Total Rewards, this position will participate in the planning, development and implementation of US employee benefit programs as well as partner with leaders in our sites outside the US on their benefit offerings.

The Role:

  • Play a critical leadership role as part of the Workday HR system; partner closely with IT leaders, HR Tech and Payroll as well as external vendors to ensure successful multi-year global deployment
  • Design, administer and provide analysis for all benefit programs in support of the organization's goals and initiatives. Executes benefits transactions improvements in concert with HR Technology team and payroll.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with HR Business Partners & provide high -touch service to all business units regarding health and welfare benefits.
  • Ensure availability of competitive, cost-effective, innovative global benefits programs
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures that ensure timely, efficient, and accurate reporting of related information for use by our Corporate Leadership Team, CEO and Board of Directors
  • Contribute to the continuous defining and shaping of the employee experience by delivering value-added services that increase employee engagement and strengthen HR's position as a strategic business partner to the company
  • Deep understanding of global health, welfare and savings plans as well as deep knowledge of pension plan management, funding and accounting impacts. Deep knowledge of mobility management and processes
  • Ability to effectively manage across geographies, sensitivity to cultural and diverse backgrounds and always leading by example utilizing Catalent's Patient First and core values
  • Oversee and administer the following US-based plans: Health (medical, dental and vision) insurance, Basic and Supplemental Life & AD/D insurance, Short-term and Long-term Disability insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k) Savings Plan, Tuition Reimbursement, Leave plans and other ancillary employee benefits
  • Ensure that the administration of all benefit programs (DB, DC, H&W) comply with ERISA, FMLA, Section 125, Sarbanes-Oxley, HCR, DOMA and other current and future regulatory and compliance codes in every country that Catalent conducts business
  • Develop the plans to manage and control benefits costs through evidence-based analysis
  • Design and develop reports, databases, and metrics to analyze benefits plans
  • Remain current in Benefits trends and applicable laws
  • Mentor, develop and manage the benefits team
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business / Finance, HR or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of HR management experience with an expertise in Global Employee Benefits. Pharma industry experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to provide vision and leadership to a team of benefits professionals
  • Track record of working cross-functionally and collaboratively at all levels
  • Demonstrated leadership and complex organizational skills
  • Business acumen; demonstrated ability to understand the business and translate that knowledge into the appropriate management of benefit plans
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and critical thinking skills
  • Adaptable, willing to be flexible and receptive to change
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining Benefits strategies to meet the organization's objectives
  • A strong command of Microsoft Office products and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Prior experience with Workday is preferred
  • Awareness of and ability to implement organizational best practices and utilize analytics to assist decision-making
  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and delegate appropriately to your staff
  • Must be a consummate professional who can be a strong employee advocate but who also has a clear understanding of the need for achieving business objectives and partnering with the business leaders to fashion win-win-win results for HR, the business, and the employees
  • Strong technical knowledge of benefit laws and regulations including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA and PPACA
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging/changing deadlines
  • Positive demeanor, highly dependable and motivated
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
