Assignments may include (but not limited to) acting as the rulemaking project manager on assigned rulemaking, exemption and rule making committee projects.

Applies senior level experience and expert knowledge on a wide range of projects from its inception to completion. Keeps all assigned projects and tasks on track with its approved schedule.

Facilitates team meetings by managing the team members and any issues that may arise to ensure that the team's objective are met.

Leads and/or supports ad-hoc activities to review, evaluate, and analyze proposed and established regulatory policies and guidance.

Develops and analyzes program requirements and plans, and recommends changes as necessary to ensure they are kept current and consistent.

Retains "ownership" of the rulemaking documents during the drafting process to confirm accuracy while ensuring the documents are written clearly and meet all applicable format and content requirements.

Responds to internal and external communications, presents project status documents and briefings to executive leadership, or other actions in support of the mission of the FAA, Office of Rulemaking.

Project Management including conducts review, analysis, and evaluation of agency-wide rulemaking policies and apply to rulemaking process as needed. Identification of stakeholder requirements and design of strategies to meet those needs. Integration of tasks completed by others into a cohesive and consistent project deliverable.
Quality Assurance/control, including develop and monitor project schedules to ensure on-time deliverables. Use of standard desktop tools for project tracking including spreadsheets, databases, and collaboration support tools.

Provides expert guidance and instruction both internally and externally, addressing diverse, complex issues which often crosses multiple project/program functional areas.

Formulate and recommend positions on major projects, policies, and/or issues to senior management.
Work typically is reviewed only at completion for success in achieving planned results.

Has broad discretion to ensure the alignment of organizational goals and policies and the requirements of the projects and/or other work activities.
