This opportunity will work 25% Team Leader and 75% Sourcing Manager. Preference for experience with City-wide experience handling large events. Typical working hours during Eastern time zone with flexibility to meet client's needs. Cvent and Pharma planning experience is preferred but not expected.

What You Will Do:

Team Leader:

  • Manage an amazing team who give it their all every day while supporting sourcing, planning, attendee management, registration, and finance.
  • Cultivate a positive and open work environment to improve quality of work life.
  • Provide engaging training for your team on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), policies, performance reviews, client specifics, company strategies, values, and administration.
  • Gauge staffing models to ensure appropriate staffing levels are in place.
  • Act as a coach to develop your team by training, providing feedback on performance expectations, and assisting with development plans through weekly one-on-one meetings.
  • Serve as a mentor in the areas of customer inquiries, forecasting, costing, and budgeting, and reviews team members' program budgets.
  • Be your team's cheerleader by always recognizing and rewarding positive behaviors and counseling to improve performance.
  • Strategize with Operations Manager to analyze, forecast, implement, and manage financial and operational measures to track results and ensure operational profitability.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with supplier organizations.
  • Maintain proactive, positive, open line of communication with client to ensure understanding of expectations and client satisfaction and share feedback with the team.

Sourcing Manager:

  • Cultivate a strong working relationship with the client by effectively communicating details of the program, anticipating client's needs, and providing an elevated level of customer service.
  • Meet with clients to discuss the vision of their event and hotel/venue wish list.
  • Expertly RFP the perfect properties for your client.
  • Proficient in negotiations to obtain the absolute best deal for the client.
  • Remain the point person for the hotel and client throughout the contracting process, ensuring the contract is completed with a cherry on top.
  • Possess organizational skills to orchestrate logistics with finesse and have an interest in keeping every detail under control.
  • Skilled at building relationships. Cultivate positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and teammates, creating a network of invaluable connections.
  • Creative, proactively anticipate changes, and build innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate and attend global site inspections when needed.
  • Act as the executive producer of all event specifics and requirements.
  • Develop and handle budgets by auditing all program related billing for accuracy, tracking, and reporting expenses to clients and communicating changes on a consistent basis.
  • Post event reconciliation and evaluation is the final mission on each program.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Expert at developing relationships with key clients and supplier partners.
  • Solid understanding for business financials, contracts, and service levels.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • A love for technology
  • A passion for creating presentations.

Sourcing Manager:

  • Venue sourcing & meeting planning experience over the last 3-5 years.
  • Incredible communication skills to articulate vision, inspire, and motivate.
  • Highly motivated at meeting timeline expectations.
  • Self-starter, love to laugh, and manage the journey.
  • Problem-solving mind that can handle any unexpected twist.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess organizational superpowers.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Vase experience with Cvent and are not afraid of technology
  • Passion for providing unparalleled levels of hospitality and consultative service.
  • Passion for creating presentations.
  • CMP preferred, but not expected.

Location

United States

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
