Role Summary:

The Floral Merchandising Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of 5-9 merchandisers within a designated territory, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of our floral products. This role involves training, developing, and assessing team members to uphold our standards of excellence at every retail location served. The Team Leader will serve as a hands-on mentor, demonstrating a passion for floral sales and exceptional customer service. Flexibility and adaptability to shifting business priorities are essential, as the Team Leader will spend approximately 80% of their time in the field, monitoring team performance and engaging with our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and evaluate performance across an assigned geographic area at various retail points of sale.
  • Assess merchandiser performance, allocate resources as necessary, and cover for absences.
  • Conduct audits of store displays and maintain strong relationships with floral buyers.
  • Prioritize daily tasks based on immediate business needs.
  • Provide actionable business data to merchandisers to enhance their operational effectiveness.
  • Analyze regional and store-specific data to recommend strategies for improving profitability.
  • Manage operational and sales activities, including ordering, distribution, merchandising, promotional efforts, and holiday planning.
  • Ensure the merchandising team presents themselves and their work in a professional manner.
  • Deliver ongoing training and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to address staffing needs and compliance issues.
  • Engage with store management teams to strengthen Falcon Farms' market presence.
  • Fill in for merchandising routes as required.

Essential Skills:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. consistently throughout each shift.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Commitment to a consistent work schedule.
  • Driving proficiency to visit stores, inspect products, and audit team performance.
  • Ability to interpret and follow merchandising schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in managing relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Flexible availability, particularly during peak floral seasons.
  • Strong self-management skills, with the ability to complete tasks independently.
  • Experience leading teams during high-demand holiday periods, including setup and teardown processes.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
