Nobles seeks a registered professional nurse certified with the Massachusetts Board of Nursing for a position as School Nurse and Associate Director of Health Services . The role of the school nurse at Nobles is multi-faceted. The school's nurses support the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of a diverse community, including students, faculty, and staff. The school nurse develops relationships of trust built on respect, adherence to the highest ethical standards, professionalism, and effective communication with the school physician, counseling staff, athletic trainers, student advisors, boarding staff, class deans, faculty, and families. In addition to clinical work, the school's nurses develop, implement, and evaluate school health programs. The school nurse works collaboratively using a team approach to support student health, prevent illness and disability, and achieve early detection and treatment of health-related issues.

Requirements for the position:

  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills with an ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ambitious and a self-starter with patience, a sense of humor and flexibility
  • An ability to work independently, with demonstrated ease in effectively prioritizing multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • A demonstrated high level of cultural competence working with a diverse population of students
  • An ability to respond to medical emergencies campus-wide
  • Ability to recognize when physical ailments might be related to emotional concerns, and to guide students to the proper supports
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing mandatory, Master's degree preferred
  • Registered Nurse with Massachusetts license in good standing
  • Up-to-date credentials and certifications as expected of the position
  • Minimum of two full years of employment as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts, preferably in pediatric or school-based nursing
  • Successful completion of a CORI, SORI, and National fingerprint background check
  • Available 7:45 am-4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Additional after-hours and weekend email communication might be necessary.
  • This is a 10-month, (mid-August through mid-June), 40-hours-per-week position.
  • Available to begin work Monday, August 19, 2024
  • Some summer work is required to be ready for the opening of school.
