Assistant Aquatics Director

At Dedham Health and Athletic Complex, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Aquatic Programs Assistant Director to oversee all aspects of our aquatic programs. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, fun, and educational environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing aquatic programs, including swim lessons, water aerobics, and special events.
- Supervise and support lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatic staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper certification.
- Monitor pool facilities to ensure they meet safety standards, including water quality and equipment maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patron inquiries and resolving issues related to aquatic facilities or programs.
- Assist in managing the budget for aquatic programs, staff scheduling, and facility usage.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the pool area in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in aquatics or recreation management.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid (required).
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certifications (preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
